Complimentary "Happy Visits" for kids!

Gaining a young child’s trust and confidence often takes a series of several small dental visits. If your child is very young, apprehensive, or it is their first visit to the dentist, we offer complimentary "Happy Visits' whereby the child is introduced to the office and given a ride in the big chair.

Mom and Dad are welcome in the treatment area at all times. We take the time to show and explain everything to the parent and child. We offer examinations, cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, and fillings. We can play a children’s DVD from our library, or from their home, for them to watch while a procedure (other than hygiene) is taking place. A goody bag is given to the child with appropriate home hygiene aids including a fun tooth brush after their hygiene visit. After an appointment, children are shown the treasure chest where they can choose a toy reward for their visit.

If a child requires dental treatment many do very well being treated in the office with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and a local anesthetic for numbness. Young children and children with extensive needs may do better if given a medicine to help them relax. Some parents lightly refer to this as a “kiddy cocktail” or “juice”.

Special advanced devices and materials

We use the DIAGNOdent, (a painless laser), to shine into teeth to look for decay. We have found that the DIAGNOdent is much more accurate that a visual exam or x-rays for locating decay below the surface of the teeth. We do not place silver mercury fillings at this office. The FDA and ADA has determined that silver mercury fillings are not recommended for pregnant women or small children. In fact Dr. Moore has stopped placing them for over two decades. In our office, we use and recommend a fluoride varnish after the teeth are cleaned. It provides the highest level of ongoing protection over 6 months with one application. It is completely safe and simple compared to the foams gels and rinses.

We welcome your family

We welcome your entire family, including children, to our practice. Plan to bring your children to see us around age three so that they can develop a positive attitude about dental visits, and we can make sure their oral health is on track.

  • Dental sealents
Many people have deep pits and grooves in their teeth where bacteria and food particles can hide and cause decay. Children with poor brushing habits may also develop decay on hard-to-reach molars. For situations like these, dental sealants offer a means of protecting molar and premolar chewing surfaces from decay. Recognized by the American Dental Association as a key means of cavity prevention, dental sealants are simply a thin plastic film that can be applied to the teeth.
  • Professional Check ups
We utilize digital x-rays, digital imaging, intra oral cameras, laser cavity detection, computerized charting and patient record systems. Our super friendly professional team will give you the highest level of attention and care.

Mouth Guards

Helmets, knee pads, shin guards. If you're an avid athlete or the parent of one, you know the importance of proper protective gear. But did you know that up to 40 percent of all sports injuries involve the face? Protect your smile and your mouth with a comfortable, custom-molded mouth guard to dramatically reduce the risk of sports-related oral injury. New research indicates that mouth guards can even reduce the severity of concussions.

We here at Moore & Pascaralla are proud to offer Under Armour ® custom mouth guards.
