Implants & Mini-Implants

Mini Implants

A lucky few feel comfortable when they wear their dentures. Every other denture wearer is left to contend with slippage, wobbling, discomfort and in many cases, pain.

This is because without teeth, the underlying bone deteriorates and the denture no longer fits. The lips are working so hard to keep the denture in place, a natural smile doesn't come naturally at all.

We take pride in offering our patients the latest technology in dental implants. We use an FDA-approved dental implant system that is proven to provide a long term solution for many of our denture wearing patients. This dental implant system, which is patient-friendly and cost-effective, includes a miniature titanium (an extremely strong and durable metal) implant with a ball-shaped head which acts like the root of a tooth and a tiny retaining fixture which acts as a socket. An O-ring connects the two and securely holds the denture in place, which provides comfort and peace of mind when speaking and chewing.

Results can be quite stunning. Patients can hardly believe the improvement in their abilities to eat, speak, laugh and smile.

If your dentures hurt when you eat or chew, or fall out when you speak this is the perfect solution!

Dental Implants

Now patients who are missing teeth have a strong, beautiful alternative to bridges, partials, or full dentures. Dental implants will improve your smile and your lifestyle. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth because of a titanium anchor attached to the jawbone. Implants can also anchor bridges, partials, or full dentures to eliminate slipping. Dental implants reduce bone loss in the jaw by preventing the jaw from falling into disuse.

After a thorough evaluation, your dentist can tell you whether you’re a candidate for dental implants. They require adequate bone structure for placement. The first stage of the procedure involves oral surgery in which a titanium post is implanted into the jawbone for each missing tooth or for the new teeth that will anchor a bridge or denture. Nature will take its course, allowing your bone tissue to fuse with the titanium post. This creates a solid foundation.

Once the implants are secured, your dentist will attach a handcrafted, permanent crown to each post. The restorations will match your natural teeth and blend seamlessly with your smile.

By imitating an entire natural tooth, from the root up, dental implants offer a prosthetic that closely mimics nature. The result? Dental implant patients enjoy restored function, which allows a healthy diet of hard-to-chew foods. Speech may also improve. Strong and secure, your new smile will boost your confidence, enhance your appearance, and improve your quality of life. Dental implants are very strong, stable, and durable and will last many years, but on occasion, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.

Reasons for dental implants:

  • Replace one or more missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth.
  • Resolve joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting into missing tooth space.
  • Restore a patient’s confident smile.
  • Restore chewing, speech, and digestion.
  • Restore or enhance facial tissues.
  • Support a bridge or denture, making them more secure and comfortable.
